About Dilpazeer Foundation
Dilpazeer Foundation is a child-focused organisation, which is registered under the Societies Act 1860. Dilpazeer Foundation has worked in Pakistan since 1997 in Pirwadahi, and works directly with poor children and their families to ensure their full participation and commitment to develop and raise themselves out of their economic, social and political oppression.
In the “Katchi Abadis” and “Bustis” of Pirwadahi, children and young people from low-income families live in widespread dire poverty without the most basic amenities and necessities, making child labour increasingly prevalent. Orphan, migrant and run-away children and young people in this area, exist in similar circumstances, if not worse. The lack of opportunity to improve their lives draws a disturbing picture of a bleak future. Dilpazeer Foundation provides religious, charitable and welfare activities, and services, sponsorships and linkages in education and technical training to children and young persons.
Dilpazeer Foundation’s Funding base derives from its Late Patron in Chief, Mirza Mohammed Dilpazeer, and through limited private individual assistance.
Dilpazeer Foundation was among the first to reach several remote villages including Kuss, Shur Bani, Banoli, Gujrani, Dheeri, Sehri, Kila, Kulat, Medaan, Bella, Tidda and Loot Kabari in the District of Batagram, where emergency relief supplies consisting of tents, blankets, warm clothes, shawls, lanterns, candles and food packages were distributed giving priority to the most vulnerable which, included children and elderly. The food packages consisted of flour, rice, sugar, tea, ghee, channa-daal and rusks.

Dilpazeer Foundation also distributed tents, blankets and shawls in village leeyah in District Bagh, which was affected by the earthquake.

Our Contributions

Founded by its present Director, Safia Dilpazeer, the Centre was officially opened on 19 April 1997 by a delegation from England headed by The Lady Mayor of Newham (the second Pakistani Lady to be elected in England).
Its current premises had been generously donated by its Patrons-in-chief, Mirza Mohammed Dilpazeer and Begum Nazir Mirza, originally to fulfil their dream of establishing a mosque for the poor communities of Pirwadahi. Since then the centre has extended beyond its religious and charitable activities and has established an Education, Vocational Training and Community Development Programme.
Based in Rawalpindi the organisation is made up of a group of professionals to provide services to young and adult children in the field of education, religion and technical training in Metropolitan Rawalpindi.
Dilpazeer Foundation’s mission is to help deprived young and adult children in getting a basic education and training for enhancing their socio-economic status by empowering them to overcome their political, social and economic oppression.
